Check the Auckland motorway congestion and traffic cameras before you drive using your Wi-Fi or Cellular connection.
Congestion information, traffic cameras and traffic signs are integrated into a clean map view which can be easily scrolled and zoomed. Double tap or pinch to zoom the map.
The map details 50 motorway segments, 16 traffic cameras and 12 traffic information signs using data sourced from the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA).
A map key is provided by tapping on the information (i) icon.
Avoid congestion
Each motorway segment changes colour to highlight motorway congestion based on updates from the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA):
- Green = free flowing
- Yellow = moderate
- Red = heavy
- Black = congested
Check the traffic cameras and signs
Tap one of the 16 traffic camera icons to download the current camera image. Each traffic camera icon indicates the direction the camera is looking. To see more detail pinch zoom the camera image or double tap to display and exit full screen.
When traffic sign information is available an orange icon will appear indicating the direction of travel. Tap on the icon to view the message displayed on the traffic sign.
About the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) data source
Please note that the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) only updates the congestion status time when it changes so you may see "Congestion status last updated by Transit:" with an earlier time when there has been no change for a number of hours.
